The Jenny Wren Goes to Market

I love to learn how to do new things. I like to push myself to step out of my comfort zones….most of the time. I have found that even if the experience isn’t all together amazing, I always learn something from doing it. I flex muscles that may have grown tired or never been used before. Market Days have been such a wonderful new season of growth for me this year.

Spring Market

This year I did Something new by participating in several antique and artisan markets. I did one in the spring and again this fall. At The Spring Market I set up my booth with all my upscaled, painted, and vintage furniture and finds.

While It was a lot of work it was so much fun meeting up with old and new friends.

This is a wonderful way to experience having a store without all the commitment of retail.

Fall Market Looks Different

I am a home and living blog and while I am mostly known by my Online community for painting, upscaling and selling Furniture, I do love all things that have to do with creating and making our house a home. This includes time creating and baking in the kitchen. This is why I share so many recipes along with decor, Hosting ideas, DIYs, and gardening.

Years ago I found I love to make cinnamon rolls. So I started making them for fundraisers and as gifts. That has grown into selling them for custom orders and this fall we decided to take our cinnamon rolls to market and sell them by the piece.

We learned so much and while we didn’t meet all of our goals I came away with so much. Our kids were such an incredible support system making the whole thing so much more than just a cinnamon roll bake off. 🙂

We had the privilege of having an indoor space at this market and it happened to rain that day. We were so glad to be out of the wind and rain.

We tested several new flavors

For this event, I tried several new flavors. Pumpkin Cream Cheese, Carmel Apple, and Cherry Cheese Cake.

Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll

Having the new menu made it all a ton more exciting and I loved giving people options they had never before tried in cinnamon roll form.

Like these Cherry Cheese Cake Rolls. It’s the best of 2 worlds… Baked Cinnamon rolls with a cherry filling and cream cheese frosting.

The Best Support System

I couldn’t do any of this without a tremendous support system. This guy here is my constant support. He is a server. A listener. He makes the out of reach dreams seem possible because of his willingness to go along with my big ideas.

I am thinking of possibly doing one more market at Christmas. This would be another Cinnamon Roll sale. It seems like Christmas and Baked Goods go hand in hand.

Be watching for more information on this market early in December.

Thank you for your friendship and love!

Hi Ruth! If I do one yet this year it will be at the farmers market outside of Elkhart. It’s the first weekend of December. I’ll make sure to post if I go!😊
