Don’t you love this time of year when the weather starts to turn just a little cooler? Friday night football is about to begin, Kids are going back to school, and the bugs are backing off a bit. After a steamy July, I always start to think about outdoor activities again, like bike rides, campfires, and creating picnics in the backyard.
Today I’m going to show you how to create 5 unique picnic ideas around the backyard, in the garden, or at the park.
When I need to be inspired I usually click on my favorite blog, Instagram friend, or Pinterest account to get some new inspiration. I hope to be that for you. Inspiring your senses and creativity to empower you to add your own touch and style to your home and next party.
Fabulous Fall picnic Idea number 1
For this first picnic, I used my door shed as a backdrop. The sky is the absolute limit when it comes to styling here. You can make it rustic with leaves and woods, adding in drippy candles, fruits, and plants. You can dress it up for a fancy event or make it feel cozy and warm with the colors of fall.

Make it a romantic picnic or afternoon tea but just a change of colors. Keep it light and add some lace and flowers to a table. Instantly what felt like thanksgiving or traditional autumn turns into a completely different feel.

Maybe you are making it an outdoor work event or picnic for 1.
Would you be inspired if you got to work in a setting like this? I get super inspired when I’m outside in nature. It’s like the whole world comes alive and creativity starts to flow. The old typewriter and chair are obviously just props but in this world of fast-paced, noisy, competition, I think stepping back to this era for a moment sounds dreamy!

This is an idea without the door shed as the backdrop. An afternoon snack with some apples in the garden would be a wonderful way to enjoy this season and take in all of these cooler, late summer, and early fall days. Let’s go have a chat in the garden.

And finally, a picnic under the lights at any time of year creates an air of festivity and warmth. There is just something about setting a table with the glow of the tiki torches, candles, and twinkle lights that set a mood for lots of laughter and sharing in the great outdoors.
